whenever I post something in reply to a thread, I get subscribed to it and immediately receive notification of my own message. It is quite annoying to receive an email every time I write anything. Can you make the forums not send out notifications to people who actually wrote that message? I think this is how most forums work.
Sorry for posting in the wrong thread but I could not find a more appropriate.
Thank you, this is completely not what I asked. I DO want to receive notifications about messages that anyone leaves in these forums. Anyone but me. Why would I want to receive notifications of my own messages by email?
Okay, I get what you're saying now. It would be rather annoying to get notifications of your own messages. However, I can't replicate the issue. Can you tell me more about what browser & operating system you're using? I'll see if I can replicate the issue on my machine.
Last time I received such a message was when I replied to the post about 28 hand-drawn boxes (downloadable resource). Here's the email:
I tried doing this again in another thread (12 women's silhouettes) and here we go, I receive notification of my own message:
Then I replied to the 12-silhouettes thread again, and got another notification (won't bother to insert a picture). Looks like those resource threads do not discriminate against my own / not my own comments, while forums do.
Thanks for letting me know that the issue doesn't occur in the forums...just on blog posts and other parts of the site.
After you post a message, you'll see a notification stating that it will take a few minutes for your comment to post. I believe the system is setup to notify you when the actual message is posted. I'm not sure if this is "as designed" or is a bug. However, I submitted it to the Quality Assurance team for review.

Hi Brian,
You can turn off notifications on the entire site by using the method below:
1. Go to your profile:
http://community.articulate.com/members/BrianGriffin/default.aspx
2. Click on Edit Profile
3. On the right, you'll see an option for "Receive Emails". Just click No & you should be good to go.
