Arrowheads Missing in Presenter'13

Jul 21, 2015

My current project involves syncing audio to hundreds of slides that have already been created. The author used Line Callouts with an arrow head in PowerPoint. When I publish the line and callout box appear but arrowhead does not.

I tried a work around suggested for Presenter'09 (Format shape and add a slight 3D rotation) and indeed that solves the arrowhead issue but the text in the callout box is not crisp.

Any other suggestions?

I am using latest version of Presenter'13 (Check for Updates indicates "no updates available at this time")

Hi C!

Thanks for the details and the image of the issue that you are having. We did have this listed as a previous issue in Presenter '13, but it is listed as corrected. If you could please check out this article, download the latest update via our website, and see if this problem still exists. If it does, please share your Articulate Project with us. If you cannot share here in the forums, please share privately here.

Hi C! I apologize for the delay as I had to dig a bit deeper.

Lines in PowerPoint have three cap types (square, round, flat) and three join types (round, bevel, miter). However, due to a limitation in the Microsoft component object model, Articulate Presenter will always use flat caps and round joints. This is also affecting the arrows added to the lines.

Thanks Leslie. So the final answer is that Articulate won't display the arrows added to the Line Callout object no matter which cap or join type you use.

Two choices if the arrowheads must be used:

1. Modify Existing Object: Format existing Line Callout and apply a slight rotation ((x=0.1°)....text is not crisp.

2. Create New: Use Rectangle shape + Line
