Articulate create non-stop many many -old.ppta files.

May 21, 2012

I'm really frustrating. My Articulate non-stop creates many many -old.ppta  files. After a single click to import audio creates next -old.ppta file. I can not do nothing. Why? How can I fix it? I read a few materials from net but i can not find the solution of this problem. :(

Hi Konrad,

If you are working in Presenter '09 and notice that your audio is missing, please review this article, which outlines reasons and solutions.
Also, be sure that your presentation is located on your local hard drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB (external) drive can cause erratic behavior, including loss of resources.
If the issue persists, please feel free to upload your files, and our support team can work with you to get this resolved. Thanks.

Question ... I'm having the same issue as Konrad (one Presentation created 17 (!!) "old" versions). I've gotten savvy at managing this as described (eliminating the "old" PPTA files, etc) but it's rather frustrating and heaps of extra work validating that things all worked as expected before moving on.

Everything listed as resolutions has been ticked off and I can eliminate the issues that could potential cause this situation. Only thing I can think of is that my "C:" also uses DropBox as a back-up system. While I turn off DropBox syncing while developing would Articulate Presenter think a DropBox folder is a "Network" drive, even though it's really on my hard drive?

Thanks ..

PS: ANXIOUSLY waiting for AS '13.
