Articulate Presenter 09 - IPAD & Smartphone

Apr 22, 2013

Hey,

I am working on developing modules for a online learning course. As part of this we are currently publishing some of the modules and uploading them to the LMS (Blackboard) at the college as part of a trial run. So far everything seems to be working fine, I have accessed the material from a PC, laptop, with different browsers etc.

However when I try to look at the material on an IPAD or a smartphone it will not launch, nothing, nada. There are some Flash elements in the class - would this prevent the entire class from being displayed? Or is there any other reason why the module material won't display? As far as I know Flash does not work on Ipads and smartphones - maybe there is some other reason??

Cheers!

Hi Chris!

Presenter '09 only publishes to Flash output, so they aren't able to play on non-Flash supported devices like iPhone and iPad. Our newest product, Articulate Storyline, allows you to publish content to Flash, HTML5, and the Articulate Mobile Player app for iPad. To learn more about Storyline, click here:

To learn more about publishing Storyline content for HTML5 and the iPad app, click here:

The next version of the Articulate Studio products will also publish to HTML5 and run on iOS devices.

In the meantime, if you want to run your Articulate Studio '09 content on non-Flash supported devices, we're aware of several third-party solutions that may meet your needs. Please be advised, these are not developed or supported by Articulate, so we encourage you to test them out to ensure they meet your needs.

Rover browser app for iPad:

Hope that helps clarify...

Hey Chris!

In theory, yes They're apps that claim to be able to display Flash content on non-Flash-supported devices. I haven't personally tested any of them, and Articulate can't vouch for them either.

Would be really curious to know what kind of success you have with any / all of them, though. Please do post back with your experiences.

Thanks!
