The mailto hyperlinks in my Articulate Presenter course cause Google Chrome to close upon clicking them. Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any workarounds?
Here's a sample. I tested this on SCORM Cloud and upon clicking the email link, an Outlook window does open (which is how it should work) but at the same time, it closes the actual course window. I'm not sure if there's another way to place a mailto link in PowerPoint other than to actually highlight the text, right-click, click Hyperlink.
Hi Dave! Sorry to hear that you've run into a similar issue. I do not have an update to share as it looks like we did not hear back from Nicole.
So, you are using a mailto link within your course as well? Do you experience the same issue when testing in SCORM Cloud as well or is the issue limited to your LMS?
Such a pro Dave :) Yes, that'd be perfect if you could share with our team here. Please refer to this thread and your troubleshooting to cut to the chase :)
Hey there, Dave. To confirm, your case was routed to the right group on our support team. They'll be in touch with you as soon as they can! We'll follow along too.
Hi Dave. I just checked in on your case, and it sounds like they are treating this behavior as a bug. I understand that you need to make some decisions for your client about how to continue with this course.
I would recommend using a workaround to the mailto: links for the immediate future. We like to resolve issues as quickly as possible, but I wouldn't want you suffering for a fix if you can move forward with your work in another way.
Let me know if that at least gives you some direction, and thanks again for the opportunity to help!
Do you know if you're viewing the Flash or HTML5 output in those browsers (or did you test both)? I'll also let Rowie know you replicated it in Studio 360 while viewing in Firefox too.

Hi Nicole!
I'm not sure that I've seen this reported before.
Would you be able to share your Articulate Package for us to take a look?
Hi Leslie,
Thank you for your response!

Hi Nicole!
Would you be able to share your Articulate Package for us to take a look? Looks like you attached the zipped published content.
I have the same issue with Chrome and Cornerstone on Demand LMS.
What was the resolution to the current string? It's over a year old, so I'm sure it's been resolved!
Thanks!

Yes, there are mailto links. And yes, in SCORM Cloud, when a mailto link is opened, the module closes.
Shall I open a case?

Will do, and thanks!

Thanks Crystal. We're looking at killing the links and just leaving the e-mail address in place.
An update, using Studio 360 ... Mailto links in Chrome are no longer closing the browser window.
When tested in Firefox, though, the browser window does close.
Same problem, different browser ...

Sorry for the delay in responding ... I'm viewing in HTML5.
No worries Dave. Looks like the bug report has been filed.
