Articulate SCORM 1.2 not talking to Moodle 1.9.5 Gradebook

May 17, 2012

I've been testing SCORM 1.2 packages in Moodle 2.0. They work. Our college is running a version of Moodle above 1.9.5. (Moodle Docs says that Moodle 1.9.5 is guaranteed SCORM compliant. Yes the SCORM packages load but none of them talk to Gradebook!

Here's my issue: In my tests, I uploaded a SCORM from Captivate 4 and low and behold: The SCORM is recording the quiz results in my Test Student's Gradebook. When I do the same thing with Articulate '09, I can't get the SCORM to talk to Gradebook.

Here are the specifics: I'm building slides in Powerpoint, and I add the Articulate features and Quizmaker and export everything as a SCORM 1.2. I have done several tests choosing various options like selecting one quiz to report to the LMS. The other option is that the LMS will see how many slides were viewed.

The results: Moodle 2 sees everything, and Gradebook is working great. The same should be happening in Moodle 1.9.5. It does... however I found this only to be true in a test where I used Captivate 4.

One specific thing that Captivate 4 asks me to do is add in a field, "imsmanifest" but Articulate does not ask me to specify this information. Is this relevant?

What am I doing wrong, that Articulate can't do the same thing?

Hi Keith and welcome to Heroes! I would suggest reviewing this video to see if it helps and make sure that you are tracking by quiz results, not slides viewed. If you are overwriting content that was slides viewed with content that is tracked by quiz results, you may want to delete the content before uploading the content again.
