Articulate Sync Animation not working

Mar 30, 2012

When I click on Sync Animations all of my animations on the slide appear. I am not able to see the animations appear as I click the Next Animation button. Also, I am not able to move to the next and previous slides while in the Sync Animations tool.

Several of the IDs on our team have had this problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi Justin,

Yes, the animations are set to On Click. As I mentioned, several of us are having issues, of varying severity. Some of us have new laptops, and we're not sure if there's something wrong with the new laptops, the new image on the laptops, or something else. It's weird though, because I'm using the same techniques that worked fine a couple of months ago. I've been using Articulate for years.

Linda,

Thank you for sharing the steps you took to resolve this issue. As noted in your case, I have posted your solution below.

There appeared to be a conflict between Adobe Presenter and Articulate Presenter because of a system profile permission issue. Uninstalling Articulate and Adobe Presenter and reinstalling in this order (install Articulate first) has resolved the issue.

Thanks again for the info!

Hello, I am also having problems syncing up my audio with "on click" animations in powerpoint.  I've done one Articulate presentation before, and I had no problems with this.  With this new project, the animation in powerpoint (set "on click") is not coming in, when it is published or previewed, in the same timing as when I hit the "Next Animation" button.  It will have a huge delay - like about 3 or 5 seconds.  Also - sometimes (not every time) - the first "on click" animation - will appear in the sync audio window - before I have hit "next animation".   Finally - the other animations on a slide - are also not very responsive to my timing of hitting "next animation" - if I have two "on clicks" that I want fairly close together - like I within a second or two - it will take a good five seconds for the next animation to come in.  This timing issue is very frustrating.  I have been spending the last day and now today trying to outwit Articulate - and hitting the "next animation" button WAY earlier than I want - so that when it's published, the animations will come in about where I want them - and I am not succeeding.  I am running WIN XP and using Articulate '09.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

OK, now I have a new, more bizarre problem.  I want to sync animations on slide ten.  I am on slide 10, I click, "sync animations" and the articulate window builds to sync slide 10.  Slide 10 is then visible in my work window for syncing animations.  I then click "start sync" - then, it changes to slide 11 (the next slide) - in my sync animations window!  Help!   Thanks.

Hey Margie, welcome to Heroes!

Sorry for the trouble you're experiencing. It sounds like you may be having an issue with the slide master in your course- that would partially explain the skipping ahead to next slide when trying to sync. Are you working with a custom theme? If you'd like, you can send us your files so we can take a closer look. Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Please be sure to include a description of your issue, your version of PowerPoint, version of Windows and version of Presenter '09, which you can find in Help and Support -> About Articulate Presenter. Please also include the URL for this thread so I can follow up with you personally in the forums. And feel free to come back and leave your case number here so I can keep a close eye on it. Thanks!

Hi again, Margie!

You can give this workaround a shot to see if it resolves the issue:

1) Select the affected slide(s).
2) Go to the Design tab.
3) Click the drop-down arrow for Themes, and select "Save Current Theme".
4) Assign a recognizable name to your custom theme.
5) Then click the drop-down arrow for Themes again.
6) Right-click a Built-In theme, and select "Apply to Selected Slides".
7) Sync your animations for the affected slide(s).
8) Then go back to the Design tab, and click the drop-down arrow for Themes.
9) Right-click your custom theme, and select "Apply to Selected Slides" to revert back to your original theme.

If that doesn't resolve it, please feel free to send us your files. Thanks!

Hi Peter, Thanks again for helping me.  I don't see a drop down arrow for Themes to select "save current theme".  I have PP 2007.  Should I just send you my articulate package?  I have it zipped.  Thanks.  Also - don't forget - the timing will just not WORK and respond to when I am clicking the "next animation" button - regardless of slide 10 which wants to skip to slide 11.
