Articulate will not run or show up on the ribbon

Apr 30, 2013

I am running Windows 7 64-bit ultimate and Office 2013, though I tried this with Office 2010 as well, and got the same result both times.

I tried to install Articulate Studio Suite.  When I launch PPT, Articulate does not show up in the ribbon.  I tried to run as an Administrator and when launching PPT, and I got the following:

The text in the Details box is as follows:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Welcome to the community Julie!

First, please make sure you're running the 32-bit installation of Office 2010, Office 2013 is not currently supported with Studio '09, but will be supported with Studio '13. Click here for a list of Office versions that are supported with Studio '09.

Microsoft released a 32-bit and a 64-bit version of Office 2010. Microsoft recommends installing the 32-bit version, and Articulate Presenter '09 will only work with the 32-bit version.

Presenter '09 also will not work with the Click To Run version of PowerPoint 2010. For more information, please review the following article:

Which version of Office 2010 should I install, 32-bit or 64-bit?

If you've checked and confirmed that you're running the 32-bit installation and you still receive this error, please let me know.

Thanks very much!

Christine

Hi Julie,

Thanks for getting back to me!

You should be able to reinstall Office using either the download, or install from CD. You won't need to pay for a separate version, because it's still 2010 - it's just setup differently.

From what I understand, the license is good for both 32 or 64 bit up to the number limit of concurrent installations allowed by the license.

If you have a CD, just uninstall your current version and reinstall using the CD. Here you should be able to select the 32-bit installation.

If you have any trouble with this, do you have an IT department that can set this up for you?

Thanks!
