Attachments not loading in Presenter

Jan 08, 2013

I have loaded four attachments into my Articulate Presenter course and the only one that loads correctly (after publishing) is a link to a URL/website. The others (2 word and 1 PDF files) do not load, I receive the error:

For viewing attachments when presentation is not playing from a website, view the Knowledge Base article located at http://kb.articulate.com/kb/000669.php.

I have reviewed this article and another with no luck. I have tried viewing my course using IE, Google Chrome and Firefox. It does not work from IE or Google Chrome. Any ideas?

Hi Lorraine,

I may be wrong, but it sounds like the problem may be that the published presentation is being viewed locally. Have you tried uploading the content to a web server or LMS, already? If not, you may want to try that, first.

Here's more information on properly viewing and testing published content:

If you view a published Presenter '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the following article for details:
If you have published and uploaded the content, are you able to share a link to it, so I may take a look?
Thanks!

Hi Christine,

I have published this content different ways, both for the web and on DVD/CD and have requested my peers to review the course. All have the same issue with the attachments not displaying. I can upload the content, but it will be too large for this forum. How else can I get it to you?

Thanks,

Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,

First, you could try to recreate the issue in a blank presentation and try uploading it here in a Presenter Package. That might help with the file size.

However, you're always welcome to submit the original files in a Presenter Package through a support case. Just let me know if you decide to do this and share the case number with me, so I can confirm receipt of the files and follow the case progress.

Just let me know

Thanks!
