As mentioned in the post Rebecca directed you to the tb1.swf is the file you want to remove or change. Deleting it though will still leave the placeholder box.
One idea is you could create create an image that matched the colour of your player, then it would appear as if nothing was there. To do this create a 1 slide presentation where the slide will be the replacing image, publish it and then swap over the tb1.swf file.

There's discussion about looking, after publishing, in the \data\swf folder for the tab thumnails (tb1.swf, tb2.swf...)
You'd need to redo this if the course were updated, after republishing.
