I'm trying to export audio from a Presenter 09 file. I've done this numerous times in the past with no problem, but now I am getting this error:
Any ideas? I can submit a support case, but I'd love any immediate help! (I did check the obvious - the file path for the PPT and PPTA files is normal, no weird characters.)
I wasn't able to find a support case for this yet, so I'm not sure if you've contact our support engineers or if you were able to get this working.
The path error makes me think that there may be spaces or possibly some other characters that are causing issues (underscores, etc.). You mentioned you've already checked this - but if there are any spaces or characters other than letters, it might help to remove them.
Might sound silly, but have you tested with another file since this error came up? I know it was working for you in the past, but if you see this error with other files now, it may be an installation issue.
If this happens with other files, it might help to run a quick repair:
Thanks, Christine. I started to submit a support case, got distracted, and forgot! I just tried again, and it's case # 00375416.
I followed your suggestions, and I am able to export audio from a different file. I also tried the troublesome file from another machine, no luck. So the issue seems to be file-specific. I'm attaching the text of the error details, in case that helps...
I did a little extra digging because this did sound a little familiar, I just couldn't remember where I had seen it before. Turns out, there was a thread with the same error (though the error came about with a different action).
Looks like, in the end, updating an Office compatibility pack fixed the problem:
Note that this error was with Storyline, but was occurring with a PowerPoint file - it may not do the trick, but it couldn't hurt to check it out and see if that's what's happening here.
I'll also take a look at the support case and try to follow along there.
Apparently my file had some slides where this was the case (I have no idea why - it was worked on by multiple people, so who knows...) I am going to fix it right now!

If that doesn't help, can you expand the "Details" option in that error and let me know if anything stands out, or share a screenshot?
Thanks!

Thanks, Christine, I aleays appreciate how anxious everyone is to help!
I got this repose from the support team:
If any of the slide titles in your presentation contain one or more tabs, you will experience the following error when you attempt to export audio:

Awesome!
Thanks so much for keeping me updated. I appreciate it :)
Let me know how that goes, hopefully modifying those slides will do the trick.
