Audio glitches are ruining my course

Jun 12, 2013

When I publish my course, what I have viewed a million times in development and in previews is not what comes out. On some slides, I have audio on top of audio and it’s two different audio files! I’ve stripped all audio and re-added it and I get the same thing. I’ve double checked the audio file and only one recording is there – so the VO guy didn’t combine the slides or anything. Another thing that happens in the published version is that my animations are off. They are precise when I add them.

This morning, I literally previewed every single slide in my course one at a time and then five at a time. Everything worked fine. Then I published and the same glitches appeared. I pulled in a co-worker to see what he saw and he has the same glitches and a different one as well. His additional glitch (which I don’t have) is that one of the slides loops.  Aaarggg!!!

My other teammate told that she reboots and that solves her problems. I’ve lost count of my reboots. I don't know what to do. Please help!!

Hi there Pamela. Welcome to the community!

So sorry for the frustration! Hopefully we can get this running smoothly for you.

First, though, can you clarify on one point for me, please? How are you viewing the published presentation? Are you viewing it locally, by any chance?

If you view a published Studio '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the article below for more information:

Publishing and sharing Studio '09 content

Let me know if you see any improvements, or if you're already viewing your project on a server.

Thanks!

Hi Pamela,

So, the glitches start after you've uploaded the course to SharePoint, correct?

Have you tried testing the project on a different server, just to see if it might be an issue with the one you're using?

You could try Tempshare, if you'd like. Keep in mind though that any content you upload here will be deleted automatically after 10 days.

You could also test your course in SCORM Cloud. This would help us determine if the issue is Articulate related or if it's on your LMS's side.

If you're using AICC content please take a look at the article below for testing information:

Articulate Support - Testing AICC content at SCORM Cloud

Let me know if you see the same thing when testing with those servers.

Thanks!
