Audio lost again - I want to cry, but I don't have the time.

For the second time in two weeks, I lost all of my audio.  I record everything in Audacity and import into my PPT slides, QM and Engage files.  I have been reading past posts on this topic, but can’t seem to find a similar problem to mine.  I haven’t changed the name of my course.  I haven’t emailed the course to anyone.  I store everything on my C drive. Both times I was doing animation syncing.  When I left Sync Animation and went to preview the slide, the audio was gone and not just for that slide, but all PPT slides.  I was just listening to the audio to do the sync.  How could it disappear like that?  I opened the old PPTA file, but that didn’t help.

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. Aside from doing a backup every five minutes, I don't know what else to do to prevent this from happening again.  Shall I cry as I re-import? :-(

Thanks!

Roxanne

Hi Roxanne!

Really sorry for the trouble you've experienced, but please don't cry, we can help It sounds like you may have already seen this article on common reasons and solutions for audio going missing, is that right? If you've tried the steps there and nothing seems to help, please don't hesitate to open a ticket with our support team and send us your files so we can help out ASAP. First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here. Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form, and we''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload. Thanks!

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the response.  I had to get over myself, take a deep breathe and re-import everything yesterday and this morning.  I did see the article you included and none of those issues pertain to me.  When I am done with my project and have more time to spare, I will do more research to uncover the problem so that it won't happen again.  If I uncover something new, I will let you know so that you can add it to your list.

Many thanks for reaching out.

Peace,

Roxanne

I feel your pain big time.  Have spent the last 5.5 hours trying to publish one course with 60 slides.  Articulate crashes every single time.  Have rebooted, restarted, closed down, etc.  Course has to get out today.  Have been trying to convince my company to move to Articulate. . this does not bode well.  I want to cry too but I've now pulled an all nighter and don't have much left in me - need to reserve the resoruces.

Hi Elizabeth,

In addition to our thoughts in this other thread, it sounds like maybe publishing the course is where you're running into trouble? If so, I would definitely recommend starting here

And if you have Avast antivirus installed, the publishing process may not complete. For more details on this issue, please see this article.

But as always, please don't hesitate to open a case with our support team. They'll be happy to help. First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here. Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form, and we''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload. Thanks!

HI Elizabeth,

I'm so sorry you are experiencing these issues.  I have had that happen to me too.  Lots of little quirky things with Articulate.  Thankfully, they always get resolved and the project gets finished, even with the occasional all-nighters.  Hang in there!

Thank you Peter!  You, staff and this incredible group make the idiosyncrasies of Articulate worth dealing with.

Peace,

Roxanne
