Audio Recording Issue, mismatch between slides and audio

May 16, 2016

I'm trying to record a presentation (that must go into use tomorrow), and running into a strange problem.  When I first go in to record, everything looks fine... but when I click to record narration, it advances the slide being shown on screen while keeping the right script (which is in the notes).  So, for example, when I start to record slide #1, the image shifts immediately to slide #2.

It seems which each successive click to start/stop, the slide continues to advance while the scrip stays in place for the proper slide.

While I was able to use the audio editor to move the slide stops around vis-a-vis the audio, the same thing is happening when I try to do the annotations.  When I click to start annotation, it plays the right audio but advances the slide so that I'd be annotating the wrong slide.

I have Presenter 13 and am using PowerPoint 13 which does automatic updates.

Help?

Hi Stephen,

This file looks to be the published output of your course - and I'll need the files prior to publish following the "Presenter package" set up described here. That thread you pointed to above is a bit older, so I'd imagine it's unlikely that they were the same thing but thanks for trying those steps just in case!

Hi Stephen,

I wanted to give you an update here as I have to leave a bit early today - I saw what you were describing while viewing it in your file, but using a new file everything behaved normally. I was able to choose "start recording" and remain on slide 1 viewing the slide 1 notes until I clicked to stop recording and then chose to advance.  Can you share a bit more about how you created this file? Can you confirm that you're working on local project files as detailed here?
