Audio Recording Problems

Feb 21, 2014

Using Studio 13, I have recorded narration audio - listened to it before saving - so I know it's there. Saved it, and gone back to Record Narration and I can play the audio file again.

Preview, shows the length of the recording but plays nothing.

Audio Editor shows blank space - but for the approximate length of the actual recording on that slide.

Then its a crapshoot of whether when I go back to the Record Narration menu whether I will be able to replay the audio. Sometimes play is inactive but the time reflects the length of original recording.

I have tried it connected and not connected to internet/vpn, etc.

I checked to make sure the communication add-on is working as mentioned in other blogs.

Anyone experiencing this with Record Narration in Studio '13?

Hi Bobbi and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

When creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Presenter '13 courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources (such as audio). See this article for more information.

Another user reported a similar issue and it turned out he had a bad install, so you may need to check this out as well:
If Articulate Studio '13 isn't working properly, a simple repair may fix the problem.
