Audio Runtime Error-URGENT

Jul 23, 2014

I installed update 3 to Studio 13 last night and continued work on an existing project. When I went to sync animations, I received the following error message:

I ran the Repair and still got the same message. My audio is intact and I can Preview the slide with audio. This is a time-critical project that is due to be released today, and I need help fast.

I tried to attach the package for review, but I get a 404 Directory Not Found error.

Any ideas?

Hi Jim,

Start troubleshooting the issue by uninstalling the software completely. Then, reinstall it. If you continue to have issues, can you try the following to resolve the issue:

Install VSTO:

Install at least .NET Framework 4.0:

After installing either of the above, please restart your machine.

If you continue to have problems, follow all of the steps listed in the link below:

After a full day of messing with every permutation of these troubleshooting ideas, the problem remains. I even uninstalled my anitvirus software and went through the steps. No soap. I still get the same error. Fortunately I have things up and running on a spare computer, but I need my main dev machine working. It's literally 8 times as fast as the spare and I need that production.

Where to from here?

Also, after trying a number of fixes I attempted to insert Annotations and received the following error message. Both seem to point toward audio-related registry entries, if that helps.

Hi Jim,

That's a generic error message that typically indicates that something didn't install properly. Can you uninstall the software from your control panel and then reinstall it?

Brian, thanks for the feedback. I've uninstalled and reinstalled at least a dozen times in various combinations with MS Office, the registry cleaning batch file, other registry cleaners and still nothing. I've disabled virus control while installing and also while enabled. I've run out of ideas.

Hi Jim,

When's the last time you ran Windows Update? If it's been a while, make sure you have all of the latest updates. After that, try installing this and then restarting your machine:
