Background music not playing - getting an Unhandled Exception error message

Trying to insert background music in my presentation.  Each time I try I continually get an "unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application" message.  Is there any way of fixing this without having to uninstall the software and reinstall?  I am not able to do this because of administrator access.  Need to finalize the presentation today and (ashamed to say) cannot depend on my IT support team to fix this in time.
