I've created a module with screencasts. I've added audio that was recorded separately but now when I publish the course, there's background noise in the Screenr's that's coming through, even though there's audio on that page. Does anyone know how I can eliminate the audio on the screenr without having to re-do them?
Welcome to Heroes. There isn't currently a way to eliminate the audio on a Screenr other than to make sure that all mics are muted at the time of the recording. Most laptops come with microphones now, so you will have to check your audio settings to make sure they are also muted.
Having the ability to turn off the audio in a Screenr, or to select whether you want audio in the first place would make a great feature request though.
Thanks Adrian for the reply. I'm using Presenter, not Storyline, so I recorded the Screenr, saved it as an .mp4 file and then added it into my presentation. It looks like I'll have to re-record a few Screenr's now :-(
You can edit .mp4 files to get rid of sound. You just need some third party video editing software. Let me know if you need a recommendation or more help on where to find information.
Thanks for that. Do you know of any good free video editing software? I need to get the files updated pretty quickly and won't have time to go through the process of getting approval to purchase software in the time that I need it. I definitely think I'll need to do that for the longer term but if you know of anything that I could download today to fix the audio, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for all the help!

Hi Deirdre,
A follow-up. Did you record using Screenr or using the Record Screencast option in Storyline itself?

Hi Deirdre,
What version of Windows do you have?
Adrian
Windows 7 Adrian.
Hi Deirdre,
Great. This makes it easy then. Look for Windows Live Movie Maker. It's a part of Windows 7 already. It should handle .mp4s without any problem.
Adrian
Perfect, thanks for your help Adrian!
Hi Deirdre,
I am glad to be of help. Let me know how it turns out.
