Backing up projects that include videos

I have been using a file structure as suggested in this tutorial
http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/ideas-for-managing-your-project-files.aspx
and like how it works for me.
Unfortunately I had been saving my work everyday under a new powerpoint file name (including the date). The newPPTA is created but I have had to relink to engage, quiz and videos.
I have FINALLY realized that I need to keep the file name the same and save a backup as a Articulate Package each day. This generates a back up of powerpoint PPTA file, engage and Quiz, but my videos do not copy across.
Do I have to manually copy in my vidoeo files or is there something simple I am missing?

Hi there Julie! When you embed a video into Articulate Presenter, the media becomes part of your PPTA file. So, that embedded video is saved along with your project when you save your course or when you create an Articulate Package. As long as your PowerPoint and PPTA file are kept together and aren't renamed or separated, you should be able to open your PowerPoint file and the video (and other assets you've inserted via the Articulate menu in PowerPoint) will still be right there in your course.
That said, it's always a good idea to create a separate zip file of any original assets you've inserted into your project (videos, audio, images, etc.) — just in case you or another developer ever needs to reinsert those items, or if you ever need to access the originals in order to make edits or adjustments to the native media files. What I typically do is create a zip of my assets (audio, video, images) and back that up in a safe place along with my Articulate Package file.
Thanks Jeanette. When I unzipped the files I realized tht they played okay. But I think you ae right. I will zip a copy of my assets as well to be on the safe side.
