Best pracitces for Moodle scoring

I'm having a hit and miss with our LMS Moodle recording my presenter SCORMS. Sometimes it doesn't score at all or sometimes it won't update the better score. And this will work for some students and not others. I have to ask my students to take a picture of their score. Are there some best practice guidelines I should be using.  In Moodle I have stated that it should force a new attempt at each attempt so the score should be updated if they get a better score but it still doesn't always work.
