Best Practices for Policy and Procedure compliance.

Apr 11, 2011

Been asked to use our LMS system to disseminate policies and procedures.  Want to ensure EE gets the policy, opens and reads it, and then signs off on a certification statement.  Wondering if there are any best practices out there.  Thanks

We started doing that for our new employee's.  We put all the policy reviews in a new employee currirulum and the new employee must complete all of them and then HR has access to the records electronically.  Here's a template that I use for the policy reviews.

We do something similar where they have to read policy for compliance reasons.  I try to jazz it up a little with a short quiz where they are thrown into a situation regarding the policy and are forced to make a decision about what to do based off of what they read in the policy.  This way we cover the compliance part by ensuring they read and verify but also give them a little practice executing the policy.  Hope this helps and good luck on your project.

Hi Neu Bee, if you are still looking for a solution, my company ComplianceBridge has a relatively inexpensive software that automates the entire workflow of all your policies, procedures, and other business critical documents. It also ensures your end users read the P&P, take an optional test or questionnaire on the P&P, and sign off on the P&P with their electronic signature. All metrics are easily viewable and reported on.

Best of luck in your search.
