Branching not working as expected
Jul 13, 2011
My course has 3 lessons. Each lesson has a navigation home page that uses hyperlinks to navigate to subtopics. When you reach the end of the subtopic, I want the forward navigation button(or automatic advance) to return the learner to the navigation home page. 2 of the 3 lessons work as expected in my testing, the first does not. I duplicated the Navigation home pages from the lessons and inserted them before the other slides in the intro to the course to provide an overview. For lesson 1,the learner is branched to the course intro slide(#6) (which is a duplicate of the Lesson 1 Navigation home slide (#11) when they click on the forward navigation button at the end of a subtopic. Not sure if this is related, but the audio editor will not display the accompanying narration to the intro slides, I have recorded some of the slides using presenter and also imported some of the audio from other presentations and still cannot see the audio or edit it for intro slides. (Another piece of info that may or not be relevant - I created each lesson in a separate file initially and combined them into one at the end. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix the branching, in Slide properties, all of my branching says to go to #11, but it ends up going to #6 instread in a published version. I change the branching to default and back, but this one slide behaves this way still.

Hi Rob. I would suggest sending us your project files so we can take a closer look. Instructions no how to do that can be found here:

Thanks Justin, the upload just completed and I received the confirmation email.
Hi Rob,
I'm experiencing similar branching issues. Has your issue been fixed?
Helena
Hi Helena and welcome to Heroes! I would send us your project files as I previously outlined so we can take a closer look.
Just an fyi to the community, I had to re-create my slide and then the navigation branching worked.
Helena, try switching to another slide to see if your problem is specific to one slide or not would be my suggestion.
Thanks Justin and Rob.
I submitted my query and was pointed to these instructions to fix a corrupt powerpoint file...

And it seems to have done the trick!
