Branching Review

Aug 17, 2011

Hello all-

I am wondering if anyone has a solution for branching navigation to review the content. Let me elaborate:

We have a course that has 3 main lessons. The learner goes through all three lessons in order and then prior to taking the quiz, we want them to be able to go back and review any content that they want to review. However, currently with the hyperlinking, if they go back to lesson 1 for example, then they have to go through all of lesson 1 and then lesson 2 and 3 instead of returning to the last page that shows all of the lessons as complete right before they go to the quiz because the client wants the learner to go through the content the first time in order (in  linear format).

In other programs there is a way to tag a page as "viewed" so you can set an action on that page that allows them to return but I know that this functionality is limited in Articulate. So I really want to make sure that I am not missing any advanced functionality???

Any ideas?

I have a similar situation. I have a course where I was trying to leave navigation open to the user so they aren't trapped into viewing content in a linear fashion. They can click on a button to view a lesson (see attached image). When they are done with the selected lesson, course goes back to this slide.

However, it seems that by doing this I may still trap them into a loop of just viewing these lessons, not easily being able to get to the conclusion lesson in the course or two of the knowledge checks unless they click to view specific lessons. If they skip those lessons, they will miss certain content (howver, they can use the Articulate navigation menu on the left). The only solution I can think of is to force them to view every slide in a linear process. Any suggestions?
