Browser incompatibility with Articulate & LMS

Jan 27, 2014

Good morning,

We have experienced a lot of technical issues for the last 6 months regarding browser incompatibility. With new browsers IE 10 & IE 11, many of our courses did not close or function properly. We had to run Articulate updater through all the courses and re-upload them back to the LMS. It still did not fix the issue. We are receiving a lot of phone calls on a daily basis regarding technical issues with course performance in LMS & browser incompatibility. For instance, in order for the courses to run properly, we had to advise to adjust the compatibility view settings and add the LMS vendor to the trusted sites within IE 10 & IE 11.  We have received the following concerns: the “Exit” button did not close the course; the “Finish” button in the quiz won’t let you proceed to submit the quiz, the course did show “In Progress” even though the settings within the courseware and LMS are set to “Complete/Incomplete.” The LMS vendors mentioned that we're having the browser incompatibility issues because the courseware was developed in Articulate. Could you please help? What would you recommend to fix the browser incompatibility issues? Will it be possibly the LMS browser incompatibility/performance as well?
Thank you for all your help in advance.

Good Afternoon, Olga.

The Exit tab may not work in Internet Explorer 11. This is a known issue. To correct it, add your course to the Compatibility View Settings in Internet Explorer.

In addition, Articulate Studio '09 content may not track properly in some learning management systems (LMSs) when it's viewed in Internet Explorer 11.  This is also a known issue.  We're investigating it now, and we'll post additional information in this article as it becomes available.  In the meantime, add your LMS to the Compatibility View Settings in Internet Explorer to avoid this behavior.

Please let us know if you need anything else, and have a great day!
