Built in Sliding Timings in Presenter

Jun 14, 2011

I am having some challenges with changing what appears to be built in timings for Articulate Presenter.  I am very new at this (I am working on my first presentation!).  In the presentation I am working on, I have set the PowerPoint slides to automatically advance after "0.00" seconds.  When I preview the presentation in PPT, everything works as it is supposed to; the slides advance seamlessly.  However, when I preview it in Articulate Presenter, an additional 12 seconds per slide is added!  With the animations on each slide amounting to about 12 seconds, the learner watches the animations and then has a 12 second pause of nothing before the program advances to the next slide.  I have worked on this all day long trying to figure out how to reconfigure the slide timings in Presenter, but there is NOTHING that I can find to address this.  Has anyone else experienced this?  How can I fix this?  I appreciate any useful feedback and tips.  This novice user needs all the help she can get!

Glad you joined and welcome to eLearning Heroes!

In the Presentation Options (see attached) you can set the slide time. After fiddling with this, I have mine at 1. By default I think it is set to 5, which adds in a little at the end of all slides, no matter if you have animations or not.

Also, check in the audio editor to see if there isn't any errant audio in there. I usually create a short, 1 second audio file that is just silence, and import that to each slide. this seems to help "kick" the Articulate timer as well.
