Can I flip back & forth between Presenter '09 & a previous version

Dec 22, 2010

HI everyone!

I am new to the world of Articulate. I've been asked by a company to turn some existing PowerPoint decks into elearning courses with Articulate. Unfortunately, they are using version 5. I'm looking for a place where I can purchase a copy of that version to work with, and I can't find it anywhere.

Also, I am reading that you can only have one version of Articulate on your computer at once. So if I did get a copy of the last version, and wanted to upgrade ... then I wouldn't be able to go back and work with the previous version again? Is there any way around that? I would like to have both versions installed at once, so I could switch back and forth depending on the requirements of the company I am creating the work for.

Sorry for not understanding the process. Can anyone please help?

Chris

The only application you could have installed simultaneously is Quizmaker 2 and Quizmaker '09. You can only have one version of Presenter, Engage and Video Encoder installed at a time, though.

The applications are different enough you really can't go back and forth between the two. You can upgrade older content to the new versions but you can't downgrade new content to work with older versions.

A couple Knowledge Base articles on backwards compatibility:
