Can I publish a v.5 presentation with Presenter '09?

Dec 22, 2010

I just demo'd Quizmaker '09 and it's awesome. I liked it so much I made the case for us to upgrade. We're thinking of upgrading our department to Studio '09 but had a couple questions.

Mostly, Will all of our original v5 courses work? Can we publish them?

If we can publish them, will we need to do anything like converting them or re-adjusting files? Okay, what's involved in converting v5 courses to Studio '09?

Thanks!

You can publish them yes, but you won't be able to go back and forth. I had a similar question and learned that once you upgrade your project files, you're committed to that version.

And I found this Knowledge Base on upgrading Presenter 5:

You can easily upgrade a project created in Presenter 5 to a Presenter 09 project. When you open a presentation that was previously worked on in Presenter 5 you will receive a message to upgrade your project. The project needs to be upgraded to the new Presenter `09 format before it can be used in Presenter ‘09.

After your project is upgraded, you will see a new .PPTA file that will appear alongside your .PPT or .PPTX PowerPoint file. The PPTA file is a file format which stores everything you add to your presentation through the Articulate menu. This includes Flash movies, web objects, logos, playlists, presenters, attachments, audio, etc… These files should always be kept together.

Additionally, a backup of the project in the old format is created automatically as a .zip file.
