Can someone help me figure out problem getting my course on Amazon S3
Mar 15, 2019
I have followed the explanation video and loaded all the components separately and my course in a zip. When I click on the link that is produced, I get the following error no matter what I do:
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
I am not a tech wizard so I'm hoping someone out there who uses AWS to host their courses can steer me in the right direction. The strange thing is that I did manage to create one bucket and successfully put a course in there that can be viewed. I have done everything to replicate the way I loaded the course and I still get that error.

Hi Alanna,
Which file are you opening to grab the link? You'll want to use the presentation.html file to launch the course within a supported browser. What browser are you currently using?
1. You need to upload the published content (NOT a ZIP file).
2. From the screenshot, it looks like you published for LMS. S3 is a simple file storage service, not an LMS. I would suggest you publish to web, in HTML5.
3. From the screenshot, it's not clear if you set the required permissions on the storage bucket to make its content publicly available. See this post here for info on the required steps.
Hi Ashley,
Yes, I was using the link for presentation.html and I'm using Chrome.
Michael,
That's interesting. I did publish this using LMS because I uploaded it to Blackboard for a college course. I could try publishing again in Web.
Michael, you are my hero! I republished the presentation for Web, uploaded it to S3 and it actually worked. I cannot tell you the number of hours that I tried to get this to work.
Thanks,
Alanna
Glad to hear it, Alanna! Sorry I missed that when l looking at your image, but glad we have folks like Michael around. 😀
This has literally been perplexing me for a year!
Oh my goodness. So glad that you were able to get it sorted out.
Feel free to reach out much sooner if there is a next time ;)
