Can't hear narration

You say it seems as if you are recording. Can you see the actual wave form, that is, if you go to the audio editor, can you see your audio?

Other possibilities:

• perhaps your computer isn't recognizing your mic
• I assume you are not using a preamp or mixer, but if you are perhaps there's an issue there
• maybe your speakers are off, but you've probably already checked that

Thanks- I did figure it out- in my computer, it had the wrong section for audio output checked. I'm using a desktop, so I needed the monitor speaker to be on, which is wasn't.
