Can't hyperlink to two of my slides
Aug 05, 2011
Hi all,
I'm having some issues with hyperlinking in a course I'm almost finished with, and frankly it's driving me completely nuts. Basically, I have a series of slides where the learner has to click on a person and that person's speech bubble pops up. I do this by hyperlinking between the slides, but for some reason I can NOT hyperlink to slide 16 or 17. I checked to make sure that these slides aren't hidden, and I've tried hyperlinking using photos, transparent shapes, etc. When I hover my cursor over the hyperlinked object, it turns into a hand like it's a hyperlink, but when I click on the object nothing happens. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Other hyperlinks are working in my presentation, so this really doesn't make sense to me.
Thanks!
Sarah

Correction. Now none of the hyperlinks I make are working. The existing ones work, but new ones don't.
Hi Sarah,
Are you previewing the presentation or are you actually publishing it? Hyperlinks won't work as expected during preview.
Ah, that must be the problem. Although I have to say, what's the purpose of preview mode if you can't actually preview the functionality of your work? I have a brand new computer and it still takes at least 5-10 minutes to publish my presentations... that's a lot of waiting around only to find out that I have a mistake and need to republish. :-/
Hi Sarah,
The main reason for the hyperlinking issue in Preview is due how the slides are numbered. For example, if you preview only slides 4 through 6, they actually become slides 1 through 3. Thus, if you try to link from slide 4 to 6, slide 6 doesn't exist in the preview. Does that make sense?
If there is a comma in the title of the slides that aren't working, that could also be the problem.
