Can't import audio files - Get message "xxx is not a supported audio file"

Sep 16, 2015

I am trying to import audio files and I keep getting the message "xxx is not a supported audio file".  All my project files (including audio files) are located on my local drive.  Directory names and filenames only use letters and numbers (no special characters or spaces).  When I try importing a file from an older project of the exact same format (WAV PCM, stereo, 16 bits, 44Khz) it works just fine.  Audio is imported as suggested by using the Import Audio function.   Anybody with the same problem?  Any idea?

I just found out what was the problem ... and the solution :-) I am therefore sharing the solution in case other people have the same problem.  When saving your WAV files with a editing software (such as Adobe Audition), you have the option to include markers and other metadata in your file.  Make sure you DO NOT include markers and other metadata when saving your files, otherwise Articulate Presenter 13 (not sure about the other versions) won't import them.
