Can't move Published Presenter files

Nov 09, 2016

I recently created a lengthy Articulate presentation that has been published for an LMS.  If I keep the files on my desktop (C:/ drive), it works great!  When I move the files to our state shared server (designated U:/ drive), the presentation.html file no longer works.  When someone tries to run the program, it opens into Explorer, and the only thing that happens is a circle spins on the screen.

I have to get this file to another department that has the authorization to publish the program into the LMS system.  I have tried downloading all files into a ZIP file and transferring the files to both the shared server and onto a thumb drive.  Neither way works when extracting the files to another computer's C:/ drive.

I need to get this file to a branch office, but I'm out of ideas.  What am I missing?  What other suggestions are there to get it to work on computers other than mine?

Hi Beth!

To properly test your published content and share it with others, I recommend uploading it to the environment for which it was published. You can view this article for more information.

You are also welcome share the file here if you would like us to take a look! Just use the Add Attachment button at the bottom of the reply window.

Unfortunately, I do not have the rights given by the State of Pennsylvania to do so.
I HAVE to send it to a staff member higher up in the hierarchy for publishing.
How am I supposed to do that?
Please let me know what I have to do to get the files to them.

I also cannot attach the government file to a public forum.  I do not have clearance to do so.

Thanks for clarifying, Beth. I recommend that you publish for LMS locally, zip the output, and then send that along to the other staff member via your network drive.

Then the staff member should download the entire contents of the file (keep the file zipped), and upload the zipped file to your LMS.

Try this out, and let me know how it goes!

Hi Beth!

My name is Marie and I work at the Commonwealth of PA on the OA, LSO Administrator team.

Our office is publishing the content as a "CD Version" and then linking to the  Launch_Presentation.exe file within the presenter output folder.

Once feedback has been received and added to the course and it has its final approval, we then "republish" as LSO content so that it can be uploaded to LSO.

I know this is an added step, but based on the articles I am seeing, this seems to be a software issue outside of Articulates control. Please reach out to us at the LSO Admin email account if you have any questions, and of course stay tuned to the LSO Users Group virtual meetings. When or if we find a solution to the problem, we will announce it during one of those meetings.
