Can't Play .MP4 Videos in Firefox

Jun 23, 2015

Hello,

I've encountered an issue where inside of a presentation, a .mp4 video cannot be played in Firefox. It works in Chrome just fine. I have updated flash fully, along with trying various plug-ins such as VLC web plug-in. I have double checked the application associations so .mp4 is supposed to use shockwave flash. I have also tried the most up to date Firefox as well as version 35.

When we play the presentation, it plays fine, but once you reach the slide with the video inside of it, it doesn't work. The embedded video shows the gray play/pause bar, but no video ever plays inside of it. The timer also does not begin.

Also, although I do not think this matters as the video can be played from Chrome just fine, but the presentation is stored on a network drive.

Does anyone have any idea as to what may cause this?

Thank you so much in advance!
