cannot insert swf
Aug 13, 2011
Hi everyone. Really hoping someone can help me here. I am trying to insert a swf, and it won't work. I have done this before and it worked great. Here is what I am doing:
1. click "Flash Movie"
2. search for my SWF (located on my desktop)
3. click on the swf
4. click open
5. nothing happens
SWF File Info
created with flash 5.5
Script: AS2
published in many different version of Flash (6,7,8,9,10) nothing worked
JPEG quality:80
Audio stream: MP3, 16 kbps, Mono
Frame rate 30fps
425 frames on main time line
14.1 seconds total, (so far)
flie name: coc.q1.081211.1.swf
Articulate presenter 09
Powerpoint 07
Let me know if you need any other info.
It just wont put the SWF in the powerpoint. I REALLY need this to work.
Any time or help anyone can give me is greatly appreciated.

Hi Philip,
First, I'd recommend removing the extra periods from the file name. After that, you'll need to use the recommendations in the link below to resolve the issue:

Most likely, there's an ActionScript conflict that is preventing the file from loading properly.
If you continue to have issues, you can load SWF files as a web object instead to workaround ActionScript conflicts:

Hi there
I've been producing a whole bunch of Articulate modules this quarter and encountered a lot of random errors to which I eventually found work around for - but for this one. I am basically no longer (since a week ago) able to insert flash movie to my presentations (whether mp4 or flv). I can click on the "insert flash" button, select my short movie but when I click "open" the slide stays blank. I seem to be able to publish old modules that already have videos in them though.
I have un-installed and re-installed Flash Player. I now have 11,3,300,268 (although the Chrome version is still 11,3,31,225)
I am using Presenter 09
PowerPoint 2007
Also (in case it helps with the troubleshooting), I was able to view my published module from my hard-drive (and their videos) but it now get stuck to where the video should be if played from my hard drive (still works if placed on / and played from server)
Any ideas?
Hi Claire,
If none of these solutions help resolve the issue, would you mind submitting a case to our support team so they can help get your software playing videos again? Thanks, and sorry for the trouble!
