Chrome Tracking Problem

Dec 08, 2011

Only thread I could find on this was http://community.articulate.com/forums/p/4916/26684.aspx#26684

Issue is an Articulate lesson will post a PUTPARAM to the LMS but will do so in FireFox and IE.

To verify this, we tested the same course on the latest builds of FireFox, IE and Chrome. We made sure the latest builds of Flash was installed. We loaded the course in Articulate debug mode to see what Articulate was trying to send. We ran the Fiddler Web Debug Proxy.

Fiddler is a tool that captures the traffic between the browser and the web to a log and allows for inspection of the http/https values being sent and received.

In all three scenarios, Articulate is putting together the PutParam. In IE and FireFox, Fiddler is showing the Articulate Lesson posting the PutParam. Under Chrome, fiddler is showing a PutParam when the course launches and the ExitAU, but the PutParam of quiz results is NOT being sent.

Any guidance here would be appreciated. The client has a large Chrome install base and are hoping there is a solution beyond telling them to use another browser.

Ok, so I managed to figure this one out as it does appear to be a browser specific issue to both CHROME and it turns out SAFARI browsers.

Essentially if the Articulate content is on a different domain as the LMS server it will not send the PutParam that contains Status, Score, Interaction data. It will send other PutParams.
