Clicking doesn't work in PPT
May 08, 2013
I have an Articulate Presenter course for which I want to make an instructor-led version. For the instructor-led version, it would simply be a PowerPoint which the instructor would narrate while clicking to reveal text and graphics.
When I try to add an on-click animation to text, it works when I roll my mouse wheel but not when I click, when I run it in PowerPoint. I need it to work when the instructor clicks.
Has anybody seen this before?

Hi Wendy,
I believe this is happening because of the "on click" animation.
Take a look:
"On click" animations are not currently supported in Presenter. Please take a look at the following article for more information:
Supported PowerPoint Animations
Hopefully you'll be able to use a different animation for your project. If not, maybe some community members can chime in with suggestions on mimicking the effect.
Thanks Christine.
But I am trying to use the on-click animation with the PowerPoint slideshow, not Articulate Presenter. (I am trying to turn an Articulate course back into a simple PowerPoint.) I am able to get it to work in other Articulate presentations, but not this one for some reason.
Hi Wendy,
Ahh, ok - so you have no intention of using this in an Articulate presentation? Understood :)
Out of curiosity are you opening the Presenter presentation file when you're trying to convert this? Or are you just opening the PowerPoint file?
Christine
Hi Wendy, I am having exactly the same problem. My animations aren't working in PP and they're choppy in Articulate. Of course come to find out the issue in Articulate is being worked on, however, did you find a fix/work around for the pp on click not working?
Thank you.
Ramona
