Creating hotspots to show checkmark

Jul 15, 2013

I have a comparison chart. I want to show a list of attributes for 3 different items and have the user click in the columns to select whether the item has that attribute.

I want to put a hotspot that, when clicked, reveals a checkmark image.  I can put in an onClick in Powerpoint but even thought the timing is set to zero, there is still a delay in the check mark appearing.

I've been plahing around with Quizmaker but I want all the attributes on one page and I can't seem to do that.

Suggestions?

Hi Karen,

It is not possible to allow the user to initiate on-click animations in the Articulate Player. As the author, when you record your audio, you will be able to synchronize your audio with your on-click animations.  You can learn more here

You can simulate on-click animations by spreading the animation over one or more duplicate slides. Please see the article  for more information on this technique.

Lastly, if you look at the answer the this archived post you'll see another work around to getting the effect your after with the checkmark images.

Please let us know if you need anything else!

Hi Ashley,

Your answer to Karen, above, states, "It is not possible to allow the user to initiate on-click animations in the Articulate Player".  Since the answer is over three years old, please answer again to indicate whether this issue is still the same (i.e can the current copy of Articulate Presenter '13 allow the user to click hotspots created in PowerPoint?).

Thank you.

John

Hi John,

Thanks for checking in on this older discussion - the player elements are still separate from the slide elements, so you won't be able to use them to trigger elements or timings within the slide itself. I also wanted to share a link to the tutorials for all Articulate products so that you could find the correct product version if you need help adding the animations and syncing them with your audio separate from this player question.

Let us know if you need anything else, and we are always curious to hear your feedback on how you'd like a feature to work, so you can share thoughts and ideas here in the form of a feature request!
