De-Synchronize Slide and Movie (MP4)

Hello!
I added a video to my Presenter '13 presentation (an MP4). When I preview the slide I notice that the slide controls also seem to control the video as well. I want to have them separate from each other, and it's necessary to have both the slide controls/scrub bar and the video controls.
I did some research and noticed that it was a feature in Presenter '09 to not have the slide and movie synchronized. Was this feature removed in Presenter '13? Or was it moved to somewhere else? Also, was that just a feature for Flash videos or was it for both flash and mp4?
I would really prefer not to turn the mp4 into a flash video (I don't even know if I can). Any help you could provide would be great!
Thanks so much!
Phil

Hi Phil!
Yes, the video will be synced to the slide timeline automatically.
You can include video controls if this is helpful.
Check out this tutorial.
Ah okay! Thanks!
Question though, is there a way to make it not linked? So that the video controls are independent from the slide controls? We have some audio leading into the video (it's not just the video on the slide).

Totally independent, would need to be SWF file.
Would you be able to have the video start at a certain number of seconds into the slide or arrange items on the timeline as needed?
Hi Leslie,
Ah, I understand. I think I would be able to rearrange some things on the timeline as needed.
Thank you!
Phil
Of course.
