Deleted Audio

Oct 25, 2013

My team continues to have a problem with our entire module's audio being spontaneously deleted. We each have a license to Articulate Present 09 and share a common internal network drive that we store the shared Articulate files on. When one developer saves the file with audio, and another opens it, the audio goes missing on 1 out of every 4 modules we produce. Where has it gone? Why is this spontaneously happening?

Thank you for any and all help.

Hi Krista,

Working on a network or USB drive can cause unusual and erratic behavior, which it sounds like you're experiencing. Further information on why is described here.  What I would suggest is you follow the guidelines here on how to create a Presenter package and place that on the network drive - please also make sure that everyone is then unzipping the files and working with them on their local drive.

Dear Krista, Just had the same thing happen to me. Flippin' frustrating and REALLY needs addressing. I noticed in this instance that it occurred after I added a Quiz, but I have a trouble ticket in. I almost gave up on this project last year using Snap by Lectora for exactly the same reason, and one they failed to correct. This could be a deal breaker again :(  Let me know if the Save and Send fix works, but it seems like they are advocating keeping it off the main hard-drive... Why?

Hi Caitlin and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know that you ran into an issue with your audio in your project.

I know this conversation is a bit dated, but I took a peek and it looks like you're using Studio '13.

Take a look at this documentation on why your audio may be missing and how you can grab it back.
