My presentation is a combination of narrated and non-narrated slides. I put 1-2 seconds of silence in the non-narrated slides, but Presenter keeps bumping it up to 25 seconds. This makes the total time 21 minutes instead of 16 minutes.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how I could fix it?
First thing I'd check: Are you working off of a network drive or any other external source? Sometimes that can cause problems like this. If you're currently working on a network drive, try copying your project files to a local drive and see if that helps.
The silence that you have on the non-narrated slides, is it silent audio that's been recorded in Presenter, or was it inserted?
Also, do the silent slides have any animations or any other media?
Yes, there is some animation (1-2 seconds) on the slides. I imported my audio to all of the narrated slides, and the silence magically appeared on the other slides. I attempted to edit it down to 2 seconds, but it always gets bumped back up.
Thanks very much for the information, I appreciate it
Here's something you could try:
In the Presentation Options under "Publish", try changing the option "On mouse click animations without set timings display after..." to 0, if it's not already.
It should look like this:
Let me know if you can tell a difference after changing this.
It simply tells Presenter to add a default amount of time to the timeline for specific options that don't contain that type of animation. I know it doesn't sound related, but we've found that altering this option sometimes helps when there's additional time added to slides with recordings, etc. Have you tried the suggestion? If so, has it made any difference with the extra time?

and I am pretty sure it is on my local drive.

What exactly does that mean? (On mouse click animations without set timings display after)
Hi Alison,

It does seem to have worked. I shaved about 6 minutes off the total running time! Thanks so much!!!
(I asked what the phrase meant because it makes absolutely no sense and looks like it was written by a computer)
Haha! Well, some of us start to think and speak that way, after a while. Doesn't necessarily mean that it translates well, though!
I'm very glad to hear that helped!
I hope you have a wonderful evening,
Christine
