Does Presenter work w/ Open Office or do I not event need PowerPoint to get it to work?

Presenter is a powerpoint add-on, so you'll need to have a version of Powerpoint installed and activated. What version of Presenter will you be using? You'll find the system requirements for Studio 360 here. 

Thank you so much but also...can Articulate work w/ Open Office which contains  PowerPoint imitation or does it need to be MS PowerPoint?

I'm not familiar with Open Office, but you'll need to have an installed version of Microsoft Powerpoint to work with Studio (Presenter) per the system requirements.
