I downloaded a few templates (.artpkg) files, but when I double click them to install them, it tells me there is no program to install them. How do I install these templates so they can be used and are on my drop-down menu?
When attempting to install your community skin, is this the message you're seeing?:
There was an error installing this package.
Custom skins (designated by the .artpkg file extension) were not supported in early releases of Articulate Studio ‘09. To correct the error above, you will first need to install the latest update for Studio ‘09. Then install the community skin. Let us know if you're fully updated but the issue persists. Thanks!
I think I have version 8 of A'09 so I don't believe that is the problem. The message I get when I double click the .artpkg says there is no program available to open it and would I like to search the web. On the videos it appears that the custom skin package appears on the desktop with the Articulate logo, but on mine it displays as an unkown file type. It also appears that it is a renamed .zip file, as I can extract it see that contents of the package.
To install a community interaction the extension needs to be .artpkg. To update the .artpkg.zip file you simply need to remove the .zip from the file name. Let me know if that does it...

Hi, Sorry new to this (in fact still running evaluation copy) but i too am having exactly the same problems unpacking & installing .artpkg skins. Is this likely to be as I'm running an evaluation copy?
Hi Chris and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! Is the issue that you are having the same as this article explains? It should have nothing to do with running the trial version though. Just let me know and if you need anything further.
Thanks for your response, i didn't realise that .artpkg. skins are not compatable with Articulate Storyline, I imagine that's the problem! If you could point me to any good ways to customise the intereface in storyline that would be great.
Hi Chris! You can customize the player, but there is not an SDK available for Storyline yet that would allow you to customize the skin. I hope that this answers your question, and just let me know if you need anything further.
The same thing happens to me -- purchased articulate studio 13 and a subscription to e-learning brothers. I double- click on the extention and it doesn't know what the file is or what application to use.
I just bought the skin a few hours ago from elearningbrothers.com
So it's probably a 2009 skin? how would I tell?
I just purchased studio yesterday as well.
Phil, thanks for the quick response.
All I want is to start attempting to transfer some of my content into powerpoint, and some of the downloadable skins from elearningbrothers.com seemed to foot the bill. Is there anywhere else I can download good looking skins? Maybe I can get my money back from elearningbros if their content isn't compatible with studio 13. I had no idea.
Hi Tech! Phil is correct. Community interactions aren't supported in Articulate Engage '13. You'll be prompted to convert them to Process interactions. See this article for details.

Hi Peter,
Still doesn't recognize it as an installable file.
