Downloaded .artpkg won't install

Dec 18, 2011

I downloaded a few templates (.artpkg) files, but when I double click them to install them, it tells me there is no program to install them. How do I install these templates so they can be used and are on my drop-down menu?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan!

When attempting to install your community skin, is this the message you're seeing?:

There was an error installing this package.

Custom skins (designated by the .artpkg file extension) were not supported in early releases of Articulate Studio ‘09.  To correct the error above, you will first need to install the latest update for Studio ‘09.  Then install the community skin. Let us know if you're fully updated but the issue persists. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, Peter

I think I have version 8 of A'09 so I don't believe that is the problem. The message I get when I double click the .artpkg says there is no program available to open it and would I like to search the web. On the videos it appears that the custom skin package appears on the desktop with the Articulate logo, but on mine it displays as an unkown file type. It also appears that it is a renamed .zip file, as I can extract it see that contents of the package.

I just bought the skin a few hours ago from elearningbrothers.com

So it's probably a 2009 skin?  how would I tell?

I just purchased studio yesterday as well.

Phil, thanks for the quick response.

All I want is to start attempting to transfer some of my content into powerpoint, and some of the downloadable skins from elearningbrothers.com seemed to foot the bill.  Is there anywhere else I can download good looking skins?  Maybe I can get my money back from elearningbros if their content isn't compatible with studio 13. I had no idea.
