Embedding Video in Presenter

Apr 03, 2014

I've been trying to embed a video directly from YouTube all morning with the following error message -

A video cannot be inserted from this embed code.  Verify that the embed code is correct and then try again.

This is the embed code I've been trying -

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/3FfaPhCKZew" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I have tried multiple codes from different clips all with the same results.  I get the following error if I try to embed directly from PowerPoint (using 2010 PP and 2011 Media Player on an XP SP3 system if that matters ) - PowerPoint cannot insert a video from this embed code.  Verify that the embed code is correct, and then try again.

Multiple embed codes from YouTube and none seem to work?  Any ideas??

Thanks!

Leslie,

I've tried both new presentations and old, same problem.  I also reinstalled both PowerPoint and Articulate this morning with the same results.  I've tried both old embed and new embed codes.  I can succesfully insert a video with autoplay into a presentationwith with a Shockwave Flash Object using the Developer function.  It would be so much easier if I could figure this out??

Thanks!

Hi Zach and welcome to the community!

Leslie it out of the office today. However, I wanted to pop in and see if I could be of assistance with this issue.

I'm able to successfully insert "from website" using Presenter '13:

First, I would recommend checking your installed version of Studio. I believe there was a known issue for YouTube videos in Update 1, but a solution was applied with Update 2. You can download the most recent version of Studio '13 here.

You mentioned that this happens with every YouTube embed code - are you able to use the embed code from another source?

Also, you mentioned that you've reinstalled Studio and Office this morning. Can you let us know if you followed the troubleshooting steps outlined in this article in the order that they're listed? If not, it might help to try following those steps - please make sure you don't skip any steps and confirm you're using a 32-bit installation of PowerPoint.

Let us know how it goes, Zach.

Best,

Christine

Hey Zach!

Sorry to hear that you are still having difficulty. I think at this point, it will probably be best to get you in a support case so that we can try to see what's going on. I would advise creating a screencast so that we can understand what steps you are going through and what you are seeing. You will be given that option when you open your case
