extremely long file names in my Articulate export files

Oct 29, 2013

Hi there. I am attempting to use the new Articulate Presenter 13 with the Accord LMS.

We are having troubles because the LMS is blocking upload of my zip files. Upon further inspection, we found that some export files have extremely long file names. For example:

How can I avoid these long file names?

Hi Tina and welcome to Heroes!

Can you share what the original file name was? Additionally, have you tested loading your file to a site such as SCORM Cloud, which is an industry standard testing method, to see if SCORM Cloud is able to successfully upload your files? If so, I'd suggest sharing those results with your LMS team.  Additionally, you'll want to ensure you're following these directions for publishing to an LMS.

If you'd like us to test it as well, please feel free to package your Presenter files and send along to our team here.

(wave) Along the lines of TESTING via a site such as SCORM Cloud,... would there happen to be an "industry standard testing method" equivalent for AICC lms's?

Thankz

Thanks Ashley! My LMS team helped me find the problem in the first place. I have to say, the filenames for Articulate are amazingly long! What we have done is to replace the stock background with a composite JPEG of all background elements. This saves us on number of items exported per page and allows us to give the item a short name. Unfortunately the clarity of the image isn't as good.
