Faded Zoom / Motion Path combo?

I'm wondering if anyone in the community has encountered this problem:
I have a picture of a timeline, with multiple other images that function as close-ups. I used this suggestion for pan and zoom effects: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/create-pan-and-zoom-effects-in-powerpoint-HA010232631.aspx
Although my end product looks great in Powerpoint, things get glitchy when published. Initially, the path was thrown off. However it was suggested that I put a .1 sec delay on the path. This actually did correct the path, but now it sort of corrects itself at the last minute causing a glitch of a few pixels anytime I use the effect.
Are there any other methods for achieving this pan and zoom effect? I haven't seen much in the forum or screenr.
I've already submitted a case and was just hoping to get the community involved.

It does well without the motion path, but having it come in and out of the middle definitely loses the effect a little.

We have a few examples of motion paths combined with zooms and fades. I know it's a little tedious at times, but I didn't notice any issues after publishing. I found the order of the animations has some affect on the quality of the effect. Sometimes changing the animation order helps.
