File Names

May 03, 2012

Hi,

Our company has semi merged with an industry association who will market our online learning modules/courses to their members.  I have been able to upload content, however, the file name remains our old name and the association wished to update the names to something slightly different.

I have re-badged and changed colours and saved the files with different names and the files and zip files seem to have the correct names but when uploaded to the learning host's website they come up with my original file names still.

I have searched for where the file names are to make changes but am getting very frustrated at not being able to come up with a solution.

Please help!

Jenny

Welcome to Heroes, Jennifer!

Sorry for the frustration. If you've changed the file names locally and then uploaded them to a website where they have been previously hosted, it's possible you're seeing cached versions of your courses. Can you try clearing the cache, re-publishing the files, and letting us know if that resolves it? Or, to ensure that your users are seeing the latest version of your content, you can upload your content to a new directory on the hosting server. If you are using an LMS, you can create a new course or delete / recreate the existing course.

If you continue to experience the issue, please feel free to contact our support team. Thanks, and welcome again!

Thanks Peter,

My problem was solved late on Friday by the hosting web help, they have the facility to change the title once it is uploaded.

I had already tried most of your suggestions before that other than clearing the cache but I thought that shouldn't have been a problem as the account was a brand new one had no content before I was to upload.  Very curious but not a worry now.

Thanks again for responding.
