Flash Player_Articulate Studio 13

Nov 27, 2020

Dear all,

I have created some e-learning courses using Articulate Studio 13. Due to the fact that they won't work anymore in the near future given the end of the flash player I was wondering which upgrate to choose. I found Studio/Articulate 360 which as I understand it consists of either Storyline 360 or Rise 360.

In the article below it is mentioned that I have to install Presenter 360 to convert my learning modules to a HTML 5 version:

https://articulate.com/de-DE/support/article/How-to-Upgrade-a-Course-to-Articulate-Presenter-360

I just got my free trial version for Articulate 360 and I really dont' know which product to choose as there is Storyline 360 or Rise 360 but no Presenter 360.

Does anybody here have experinece with this process?

Any advice would be very helpful.

Thanks a lot and kind regards

Rebecca

Hi Phil,

thanks for your Swift Reply - very much appreciated.

On the Articulate Homepage I can pick the following options:

- rise 360

- Storyline 360

- Content Library 360

- Review 360

There is neither Studio 360 nor Presenter 360 available.

Seems that I am missing something here but I just can't find my mistake.

Kind regards

Rebecca

Hey there, Rebecca!

Shout out to Phil for the solid support — thank you!

It sounds like you're on https://360.articulate.com. To access the desktop app view that Phil shared above, click Download Apps in the upper right corner.

Once the installation is complete, the Articulate 360 desktop app will automatically open.

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for reaching out!

While there isn't a native Mac version of Storyline, you can utilize a virtual environment. Here are a couple of examples of what others in the community use:

We also have a great walkthrough on how to set up these environments here:

Dear all,

I just upgraded some projects to Studio 360 and it worked perfectly. Thank you!

In order to run a test I deactivated the Adobe flash player in some browsers and both versions still work - the projects I published via Studio 13 and studio 360. I assumed the old version should no longer work when the Flash player was deactivated and this would be the appropriate way to test my projects edited with studio 360.

Is there a way to test whether the upgraded projects are going to work on January 1st?

Thanks for your advice.

Rebecca

Good morning,

we have uninstalled the Flash player in Firefox and the projects edited with Studio 13 still work - I also used the checkbox html5 while publishing. The projects I upgraded to Studio 360 also work.

Is there another wy to test whether those courses will work from January on?

I just want to make sure.

Thanks and kind regards

Rebecca

Greetings, Rebecca!

I'm sorry we missed your reply above. I'm happy to answer those questions:

  • Studio 360 doesn't have any Flash dependencies, and its HTML5 output works in all major browsers.
  • HTML5 output from Studio '13 works in Chrome and Safari. However, it won't work reliably in other browsers.

To ensure a Flash-free experience from now and onward, we recommend using Storyline 3 or Articulate 360 (Storyline 360 or Studio 360) to republish these courses.
