Font size changing when Previewing/Publishing

Jul 10, 2012

Hi -

For the past 2 or 3 courses I've worked on, I've had an issue with the font size increasing when I preview/publish.  I was recreating each screen, but now I'm working on a longer course, and I don't want to recreate everything. Has anyone ever experienced this?  What can I do?

Please help!

Thanks,

Kim

Hi Kim,

Thanks for the screenshot. It's possible that your PowerPoint file is corrupted, but I would recommend sending us your project files so we can confirm the issue. Please create an Articulate Presenter package, then upload the zip file to our server. You can review how to do this here:

Send to Articulate Presenter Package – Articulate Presenter ’09 Help

Upload the resulting zip file from your computer to our server using this upload form:

Hi Peter,

I've faced the same issue with one of my courses. It's curious that the same PPT was used in 2010 to publish and it worked fine. But we updated it this month, i publish, and the output font size on screen is small. Just the font size.

Just like Kim, on one slide I cut and paste the text, reformatted it, and published again, and the font size shows as normal in the output. I don't want to do this for 45 slides.

Would you be able to help me?

Thanks,
Sanjay

I'm experiencing the same thing, after upgrading to Win 07 and Powerpoint 2010. Recently reimaged my computer and re-installed Studio 09 for another reason (would not publish) but I had noticed this before that change. It seems to be somewhat random. Not all text in a ppt is affected and not all ppts are affected.

Recreating the pages does not help.

It's killing me as I have many ppts to convert.

What's up with this?

Hi Susan and welcome to Heroes!

I don't see where either Sanjay or Kim submitted a Support case, so if you'd like to go ahead and send your Presenter files along to us we'll check out what's happening.

Also, here are a few things that you can check:

  1. If you're using a DPI setting other than 96, you'll encounter erratic behavior in the desktop applications and the published output. There is an article here that explains this further as well as provides instructions on checking/changing yours if needed.
  2. Can you view the presentation in a different web browser?  If so, you may simply need to clear out your web browser cache.
  3. If you've checked the above, and still need assistance, then you should simply send the Presenter Package so that it can be reviewed.
