Frustrating problem with Web Objects
Apr 04, 2011
I have published an interactive exercise as a Web Object using Captivate 4. The dimensions are 719 x 474 - well within the required dimensions of 720 x 540. And yet for some reason the up/down left/right scroll bars appear and get in the way of what would be a seamless exercise. I have tried everything I can think of to make it fit without any scroll bars:
- Rescale the project within Captivate to even smaller dimensions
- Manually resize the web object once inserted onto the PowerPoint screen
- Choose a custom size for the web object when in the process of inserting it
Nothing has worked so far and I could really do with some advice. Please note that I cannot launch a new window as the company's LMS does not support this.
Anybody?
Thanks.

Phil
No me neither I don't think I'd use them if I had a choice!
Not sure what a Captivate 4 object is? Do you mean a Flash Object created by Captivate 4?
Hi Nada,
Can you post a screenshot where the scroll bars appear in your published output?
a published captivate 4 can be inserted directly into articulate
Phil
Hi Nada - Does the scrolling happen during preview and publish in Presenter? Or only when you preview your slide?
Nada - one other thing you could try is locking your browser (Articulate > Player Templates > Other > Presentation size: Lock presentation at optimal size).
I noticed scrolling occurs on movies when the browser is resized too small.
