Help! Audio and .ppta file vanished on publish!

Apr 28, 2011

I've spent the bulk of this week recording and refining my narration, syncing it with animations and annotations, etc. When I thought I was done, I previewed it and all seemed well. I chose the Publish to CD option because I wanted a whole package that we could eventually link to from our intranet and told it to save on my desktop. When I previewed the module after publishing, I had one slide for which the audio didn't come over. (I had a couple of slides where animations or annotations wouldn't delete, so I created new slides and then re-did the narration; I figured I missed one.) I deleted all related files from my desktop, added the narration, previewed, then followed the same steps to publish back to my desktop....but this time, I had NO audio whatsoever! I went back to the original PowerPoint, and guess what? When I click preview, there isn't any narration...but the slide runs as long as the narration did, so doesn't that mean it's still there somewhere?

I found this link to troubleshooting steps (http://www.articulate.com/support/presenter09/kb/?p=643) and have followed them - my add-in wasn't disabled, but i can't find my .ppta file. Am I destined to have to re-record all the narration?
